DevOps Architect

Gearset
Full-time
On-site
Cambridge, United Kingdom
£100 - £135 GBP yearly
Many companies pay lip service to “Customer Success.” At Gearset, we’re looking for a DevOps Architect to join a company where it’s a core part of our DNA. You’ll partner with Gearset’s most strategic customers, helping them adopt DevOps practices to get the most out of their Salesforce investment. This is a hands-on, technical role where you’ll guide customers from the moment they join Gearset to becoming confident, successful users driving DevOps within their Salesforce teams.

What’s the opportunity for a DevOps Architect at Gearset?

    • As a DevOps Architect, you’ll work closely with customers to understand their goals for adopting Gearset, learn how their teams work, and provide expert guidance to help them achieve success.
    • You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them implement best practices in Salesforce DevOps, rather than performing hands-on implementation yourself.
    • You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers, salespeople, and marketers, combining your technical expertise with commercial insight to make a real impact for customers.
    • By working directly with users, you’ll play a key role in shaping our product’s future and ensuring their voices are heard across the company. This is your chance to drive customer success and help Gearset continue to grow.

What the role isn't

    • This role requires strong DevOps knowledge, but it’s not a hands-on engineering position.
    • If you’re looking to build pipelines, write infrastructure as code, or manage deployments, this won’t be the right fit.

What you’ll achieve

    • Own and deliver measurable outcomes for multiple strategic customers by driving adoption, solving technical challenges, and ensuring successful implementation of Salesforce DevOps practices.
    • Be a technical champion for Gearset’s strategic customers, offering thought leadership and guidance rather than hands-on implementation.
    • Work closely with customers, managing multiple technical relationships at once, as you transition them from implementation to ongoing platform usage
    • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, staying up to date on the ever-evolving state of Salesforce DevOps and Gearset.
    • Lead discussions with new and long-term customers across different industries and use cases, addressing technical challenges, exploring aspirations, and providing guidance on how to achieve their goals using the platform.
    • Work closely with our product team to suggest features and quality-of-life improvements, drawing on customer feedback and insights gained from direct collaboration with users.

About you

    • Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) architecture, tools and and Git branching strategies.
    • Practical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, either as an advanced admin, developer or architect.
    • Expertise in DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, infrastructure as code, version control workflows) and Salesforce development and deployment methodologies.
    • A technical predisposition with a desire to learn, and the ability to convey complex technical topics with simplicity.
    • The ability to build effective long-term relationships with customers, supporting them throughout their life cycle with Gearset.
    • Experience working with multiple complex teams to deliver outcome-oriented DevOps processes aligned to customer goals.
    • A proven ability to influence customer behaviour and drive action – not just through authority, but by collaborating with senior stakeholders to align on process changes and guide organisations toward adopting new practices that deliver meaningful outcomes.

Great to haves

    • Experience working in a B2B SaaS company
    • Experience with working with GSI’s/SI’s
