Our Institutional Retirement division provides pension risk transfer (PRT) solutions for UK and US defined benefit (DB) schemes, and reinsurance solutions from our global hub in Bermuda. We work with companies, DB pension schemes and their advisors to help them secure and protect scheme members’ retirement benefits.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our high technical team. In this pivotal role, you will drive multiple cloud projects and continuous delivery workstreams, with a strong emphasis on designing and implementing best practices for Identity & Access Management. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the security and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on while also providing direction and expert guidance to our internal and outsourced infrastructure teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Using your experience of cloud architecture and relevant Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles and practices to guide cloud workload design and implementation access design, feeding into appropriate design artifacts including key design decisions (KDD) and low-level designs (LLDs)
- Engaging with our internal customers to consult on appropriate design and implementation approaches
- Providing guidance and supervision to support project teams from formational stages (preliminary designs, estimation) and throughout the development lifecycle to ensure that infrastructure deliverables meet requirements.
- Developing and implementing best practice RBAC, key/secret management and SSO in line with best practices internal organisational standards
- Implementing continuous improvement to our IAM processes and capabilities including use of Azure PIM and Sailpoint
- Interpreting group standards and implementation patterns to fit with our divisional processes and applications, working closely with group central IAM team and relevant communities of practice
- Ensuring that the cloud services are built with sufficient skill and diligence to support the business’s goals in fulfilling its consumer duty
Who we're looking for:
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure and in particular services relating to IAM including Entra ID and Azure PIM
- Knowledge and experience working with a diversity of Azure services including IaaS, PaaS and CaaS services
- Strong understanding of security concepts, including, but not limited to, authentication and authorisation
- Good understanding of security and compliance frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence senior stakeholders and a broad range of individuals across various disciplines
- Some Azure certifications desirable, e.g. SC-300
- Ability to advise and influence others on best practices
